Injection molding equipment includes syringes, metering units, supply barrels, mixers, nozzles, mold fixtures, etc.

Typically, we first divide the formulation of the liquid silicone rubber compound into two parts, which are delivered in a certain proportion from the material barrel to the static mixer, which is powered by a special pneumatic metering pump system. Also, if you have more requirements for the product, the raw materials can be allowed to add colorants or other additives to change hardness before mixing.

In a static mixer, the compound is thoroughly mixed, even better than premixed solid silicone rubber. After that, the LSR compound is pushed into the metering part of the injection unit, and the cooling system will work so that the LSR compound will not undergo unnecessary catalytic reactions, which effectively reduces the possibility of material waste.

The LSR compound then enters the mold cavity and cures under the action of high temperature and pressure. This process is very rapid and usually only lasts a few seconds. When finished, the product is removed from the mold, the liquid silicone rubber is re-injected, and the next production cycle begins. This is the process flow of silicone rubber injection molding.
